Platform Layer
Illume Platform
The software layer that turns Illume Box and Illume One into a living spatial media system. Bring content into real space, keep it stable, and control the experience across devices.
Introduction
Turn everyday rooms into spatial media surfaces. Illume combines AI and proprietary light field algorithms to convert standard 2D content into depth-rich spatial visuals in real time, without headsets.
2D to True Light Field
Illume reconstructs depth from standard 2D sources and renders a true light field in space. You do not need special cameras, custom content, or headsets to experience real spatial depth.
A true light-field volumetric display you can approach and examine up close — a real image in space, not a virtual overlay.
Breakthrough core patented technology: our in-house spatial structured light-field reconstruction enables an ultra-thin, scalable, wide-view collimated light architecture—balancing compact form with large field of view.
The result is stable parallax, multi-viewpoint presence, and natural depth cues across a wide viewing range.
Supported Content
- Standard 2D video and imagery
- Side-by-side (SBS) 3D sources
- Panorama / 180° / 360° content
- Spatial photo and video pipelines
Overview
Illume generates true light fields directly in space. Instead of flat pixels or headset-bound rendering, we organize light so depth, parallax, and presence appear naturally from multiple viewpoints.
The result is an immersive desktop that feels physical and stable in the real world—no glasses or headsets required.
Access
Access the Illume runtime and platform tooling for your devices. The same platform supports single-room setups and multi-device installs.
What You Need
Hardware
- Illume device (Box or One)
- Windows PC with a dedicated GPU (RTX 4060 or higher recommended)
- USB-C or HDMI/DP output to your Illume system
Software
- Windows 11 / Windows 10
- Latest GPU drivers
- Illume Desktop Runtime installed
Get Started
Connect your device
Connect your Illume device and confirm it is detected by the runtime.
Select Display Layouts
Choose between Extended Mode (dedicated light field display) or Mirrored Mode (mirrors your main display).
Launch
Start Illume Desktop to begin real-time spatial rendering.
Display Layouts
- Extended Mode: A dedicated 4K light field display while keeping your primary screen.
- Mirrored Mode: Real-time mirroring of your main display with light field depth.
Render Modes (Windows)
- Quality Mode: Best for high-end GPUs. Highest precision AI depth conversion.
- Performance Mode: Optimized for mid-range GPUs. Smoother frame rates.
Note: For Nvidia GPUs, Quality and Performance modes are effectively identical due to CUDA acceleration. We may remove the selector in a future release. Keep your GPU driver up to date for best results.
Usage Guide
